内山章一

東京出身、照明デザインのスペシャリストとして、１９７７年に内山章一 デザイン事務所を設立、以後、グレアフリーの関接光を用いた照明器具の創造に取り組む、その努力の結果、周囲にある物を美しく見せ、人々にその質感や奥行きを体感させるようなデザインを作り出してきました。

また、モデリングは実際の光源を使った原寸大の模型により、光の強さと色、物体への投影、そして、器具の美しさをチェックする、そしてこの厳格な設計プロセスからは、日本の伝統的なデザインの持つ、ミニマリズムの美を備えた、シンプルで機能的なフォルムが誕生します。こうしたデザインにより、数々の国際的なデザイン賞を受賞している。

Shoichi Uchiyama

Uchiyama was born and raised in Tokyo. He established Shoichi Uchiyama Design Office in 1977 as a lighting design specialist.His hard work to create lighting fixtures using glare-free indirect light has borne fruit in designs that make surrounding objects look beautiful and allow people feel their texture and depth.

The actual light source and full-scale model are used for modeling to check the strength and color of light, projection onto objects and aesthetic appeal of the fixture. His rigorous design process brings into existence simple but functional forms with the beauty of minimalism, which is observed in traditional Japanese designs.Such innovative designs have won him a number of international design awards.
